In a mark of friendship and bilateral cooperation the newly appointed Director General of the Senegalese Customs Administration, Dr. Mbaye Ndiaye visited from the 22nd-23rd January 2024 the Gambia Revenue Authority at the request of his counterpart and brother Commissioner General Yankuba Darboe.
The heads of the two administrations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Senegambian dream through trade and the free movement of goods and people. Through this, they hope to consolidate and sustain the already existing excellent relations between the two countries.
The cooperation between the two customs administrations has thus taken a new direction based on pragmatism in the implementation of common agreements and the establishment of joint border posts. These actions will strengthen the facilitation of movements of people and goods, as well as improve the security of the nations.
As a mark of appreciation for the visit, CG Yankuba DARBOE hosted a special dinner in honor of the visiting delegation at the Coco Ocean punctuated with light entertainment. Plans are underway for the 10th Bilateral Meeting to be hosted by GRA later in the year where detailed discussions on common interests will be held.
