The Department is headed by a Director and comprises 3 Units with each Unit headed by a Deputy Director. The Units are Financial Operations Unit, Financial Controls & Reporting Unit, and Revenue & Reconciliation Unit. In addition, the Deputy Director in each Unit is assisted by Managers who head Sections.
Financial Operations Unit
This Unit is headed by a Deputy Director and assisted by Managers responsible for the day-to-day operations and supervision of the Unit. The Unit is responsible for the budget, expenditure, and payroll of the Authority.
Revenue & Reconciliation Unit
This Unit is headed by a Deputy Director and assisted by Managers. The Unit is responsible for receiving, accounting, and reporting revenues paid to The Authority. The unit supervises the Cashiering, Reconciliation, and Revenue Accounting functions of the Authority.
Financial Controls and Reporting Unit
This Unit is headed by a Deputy Director and assisted by Managers. The Unit is responsible for the financial controls and reporting functions of the Authority.
The Finance and Accounting is a support service Department within the Authority entrusted with the providing all financial and accounting functions as follows:
- Responsible for the generation and management of all financial data and transactions
- Responsible for the preparation and provision of financial reports for Management and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for the coordination of the Operational Budget preparation, compilation, and execution.
- Responsible for collecting, accounting, and reporting of all revenues paid to the Authority.

To facilitate the ease of tax payments, the Authority has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with a number of commercial banks to receive and process payment of revenue on behalf of the Authority. This is to enable the quick processing of payments for taxpayers and thus enhance the clearing time. The Authority signed MOU with the following commercial banks.
- Guaranty Trust Bank;
- Access Bank ;
- Ecobank Bank;
- Bloom Bank Gambia LTD;
- Mega Bank; and
- First Bank Gambia.
