The training, which started on Monday 8 January 2024 was officially opened by the Commissioner of Customs on behalf of the Commissioner General. He caution the staff to put in their best to get the require knowledge and stills from the training exercise. He noted that Post Clearance Audit in this modern era is more of a trade facilitation and compliance tool as it plays a critical role in trade acceleration and timeliness. He assure the participants of management’s commitment to supporting the continuous professional development and the work of PCA.
It is currently being conducted by the Technical Assistant on Post Clearance Audit covering best practice concepts on several topics of PCA. Some of the major areas of focus are Teamwork and Team building, WCO’s concept on PCA, the PCA Audit cycle, Risk management & PCA targeting, valuation, classification & Origin, Audits of specialized sectors (Concessions & investment incentives), data analytics, excel functions for PCA, introduction to WCO tools/reference materials and the WCO Clikc platform, group exercises amongst others.
